The Park District Board of Commissioners consists of five members who are elected by the residents to serve a 4-year term. The Board meets on a monthly basis to conduct business related to the Park District.

PARK DISTRICT OF LA GRANGE BOARD ELECTS
KELPSAS AND ASHBY TO TOP POSTS
Tim Kelpsas was recently elected by his fellow commissioners to serve as president of the board for the Park District of La Grange. Bob Ashby was elected as its new vice president. Kelpsas previously held the position of vice president.
Outgoing park board president, Rob Metzger, was very pleased with both appointments. "Tim has been a great board member since his election several years ago. He works tirelessly to further the Park District's mission and was instrumental in our efforts to pass the Gordon Park referendum. He deserves the job and I am confident he'll be a great leader." "Bob has also been a great contributor. In particular, he's led our efforts to be responsible stewards of the public's funds and to ensure we maintain a conservative fiscal policy. He and Tim will work well together to continue to drive the PDLG forward."
Park board commissioner, Chris Walsh, added that “Tim brings enthusiasm, energy, and unselfish dedication that will help our park district continue to improve." Mary Ellen Penicook, another park board commissioner, added that “Tim has shown great dedication and energy to the park district and the community as a whole. He is a great communicator and leader.”
Tim Kelpsas looks forward to his new role and said that “as president, I intend to capture opportunities to work together with other organizations throughout La Grange and the surrounding area. These relationships are mutually beneficial and can help all of us better succeed in our missions." Bob Ashby commented that his “goal in assuming the duties of vice-president on the board is to continue our focus on improving the programs, facilities, and services that the PDLG offers its patrons in a fiscally responsible manner.”
Commissioners also re-elected Dean Bissias and Steven Paczolt to their respective positions as secretary and treasurer of the board.
